EN 14538 Fat and oil derivatives - Fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) - Determination of Ca, K, Mg and Na content by optical emission spectral analysis with inductively coupled plasma (ICP OES)
11 Expression of results
The results for the sum of the contents of Calcium and Magnesium and for the sum of the contents of Sodium and Potassium shall be reported in mg/kg, rounded to the nearest 0.1 mg/kg.
12 Precision
12.1 Repeatability
The difference between two test results, obtained by the same operator with the same apparatus under constant operating conditions on identical test material, would in the long run, in the normal and correct operation of the test method, exceed the values calculated from the following equation only in one case in twenty, where X represents the mean of the two results:
Ca + Mg r = 0.023X + 0.271
Na + K r = 0.020X + 0.193
12.2 Reproducibility
The difference between two single and independent test results, obtained by different operators working in different laboratories on identical test material, would in the long run, in the normal and correct operation of the test method, exceed the values calculated from the following equation only in one case in twenty, where X represents the mean of the two results:
Ca + Mg R = 0.149X + 1.186
Na + K R = 0.191X + 0.941
13 Test report
The test report shall specify:
a) reference to this document;
b) all information necessary for the complete identification of the sample;

d) test results obtained (see 11);
e) all operation details not specified in this document, or regarded as optional, together with details of any incidents which may have influenced the test results;
f) date of the test.
