10. Procedure
10.1 Purge and empty the apparatus and draw a sample of the product to be tested as in Section 8.
10.2 Carry out the procedures and take the reading as described in Section 9. After each determination, empty the cylinder and vent to reduce the pressure to atmospheric in a safe place.
NOTE 3 - For measurements in the field, this method may be used at ambient temperatures, with the realization that the accuracy is decreased. (Warning - If so used, the cylinder must be vented and the test discarded if the pressure rises above a gauge pressure of 1.4 MPa (200 psi).)
NOTE 4 - ASTM Test Method D1298 (API MPMS Chapter 9.1) can provide additional assistance in how to perform these tests.
